Brewers lose their third straight, as the Cubs take them down 5-3

After winning on Opening Day in dramatic fashion, the Milwaukee Brewers dropped their third straight this evening to the Chicago Cubs. The Brewers hitters are doing a very good job of making opposing hitters look really good Hunter Strickland Hoodie. Trevor Williams was the beneficiary tonight. Through six innings, Williams gave up two runs and struck out six. The big worry if your a Brewers fan is over the past three losses, Brewers hitters are striking out a lot. In the last two games of their three game series against the Twins, Brewers hitters struck out 27 times. They struck out 12 times tonight. Most worrisome is the fact that Christian Yelich and Keston Hiura are the biggest culprits. Over the past three games, Hiura struck out six times. In those same six games, Yelich struck out eight times. That is 14 of the 39 strike outs accumulated (36%) over the past three games came from what is supposed to be the two best hitters in the lineup. If the Brewers are to have any real success, that must turn around. The starting pitcher for the Brewers tonight was Brett Anderson. The Brewers would have really liked to get a quality start out of Anderson. First time through the lineup, Anderson looked as if he might just deliver. Unfortunately, second time through resulted in a 4-run fourth inning that ultimately sealed Milwaukee fate. Leading off the inning, Ian Happ drew a walk. Later in the inning, Javier Baez connected with a solo shot to right-centerfield. David Bote decided to make it a back-to-back with another homer to center. Omar Narveaz did make things exciting in the seventh for Milwaukee Omar Narvaez T-Shirt. Ahead of him, Yelich drew a walk, which was followed by a single by Avisail Garcia. With two outs, Narvaez connected with a shot to right, and all of a sudden it was a game. Omar Narvez!!His firstof the year gets us back in the game. Brewers down 4-3 in the 7th. The Cubs answered in the bottom of the seventh. With Jake Marisnick on second following a walk and a stolen base, former Brewer, Eric Sogard tripled down the line in right. Marisnick scored the final run of the game, and at the end of this night, the Cubs downed the Brewers, 5-3. These two go at it again tomorrow as Freddy Peralta takes the mound for the Brewers.
